Orchids are the largest and one of the most diverse of the flowering plants families, with over 800 described genera and more than 30,000 species. More than 1,000 hybrids are produced by horticulturists each year. Other common horticultural orchid species also include Angraecum, Coelogyne, Ludisia, Vanda, Odontoglossum and Pleione.
